Little C: Let's Be Upfront About This

Readers, this was supposed to be a post/review of the American Gods pilot. We went to a screening on Monday that was followed by a Q&A with Michael Green, Bryan Fuller, Ricky Whittle, and Ian McShane. But as every time I try to write about it I devolve oh so quickly into a babbling mound of fangirl. So Christy will fill you guys in with a full review on Friday. But seriously it was so good.

Today I wanted to talk about the season we are entering into. Tis almost time for spring Upfronts, also known as the time when all the networks announce what shows they're cutting and what shows they're picking up. I feel about this time the way normal people must feel about post season sports. This is a time when the networks decide what their lineups will look like, what their identity will be in the coming year. It's a time filled with endless possibility! Okay so mostly I'm liking this year because nothing I love is on the chopping block.

You see they already heartlessly cut both Galavant and our beloved Agent Carter. All our other nerdy loves have already been renewed or are getting good enough ratings that baring a truly stupid act from the showrunners they will see another day. Even the looming threat of another writers strike doesn't have me fearing for any shows. YOU CAN'T TOUCH ME BITCHES!

Not sorry. Couldn't resist.

Sorry. Got a little excited. Riverdale, Legion, Supernatural, All of the DC television 'verse, The Librarians... readers, we just don't have many years where the networks love everything that we love. It's a euphoric feeling. Either we're getting better at only loving shows that have a good audience or we're still tragically us and this year is but a small reprieve from the inevitable carnage that will leave us devastated for months, quietly plotting the deaths of anyone we suspect had a hand in ending our shows.

So I can with ease look forward to the choices that are made, and the new shows that will be given life. Stay tuned for my feelings on the pick ups.

Happy Upfronts!
Little C
