Giving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving readers!

We're having a bit of a break from the blog- we've been doing some traveling, some family time, and one of us came down with a brutal bout of strep throat that ended our blogging ambitions this week. But we wanted to take a moment in the spirit of the season to talk about the things we're thankful for this year. Including, but not limited to...

Gal Gadot, you beautiful, talented, kind human. We have loved you since Fast & Furious, and now you are our princess of Themyscira. Plus watching you interact with little girls at fan events for Wonder Woman brings us both to ugly tears every single time.

Chrises, both Evans and Pine. In a year of truly horrendous/stupid dudes, you've both been some pretty bright points. Chris Evans' twitter feed is almost a 50/50 split between political rants and pictures of his (adorable) dog. And watching Chris Pine talk about the ladies he worked with for Wonder Woman and flip off the paparazzi has made our day more than once. You've both been nominated for Future Boyfriend status, fellas.

We are thankful for the fact that the new Star Trek is watchable. It's not perfect, but it's pretty dang entertaining and CBS had us seriously worried for a while there. Thusly, we will take not quite perfect but entertaining over the mess that it probably should have been.

We are as always super thankful for our tribe. It's been a wild ride around our lives in the last year, and the people around us, both family and friends, are the most insanely supportive folks in the entire universe. We've shown a quite frankly impressive range of emotions, and they have yet to abandon us to crying on the floor. They've also been responsible for an amazing set of adventure that we've been on this year, and that is worth the thanks in itself.
Our people are the best people...
And finally, at the risk of being a bit self-promotiony, we are intensely thankful for our first feature, School Spirits, to finally be out in the world. We are so, so proud of this little film. It has so many of the things that are important to us- smart, brave, complicated female characters; young women who love science and all things spooky; complex female friendships; interesting mythology. For any young screenwriter, your first feature coming out is a big deal. It's even better when you're happy with how it all came out. And if you haven't seen it (and want to), all the links to buy it are here!

Mostly we are deeply thankful for a long weekend this weekend, giving us time to catch up on some projects, do laundry, take 15,000 naps to combat the strep... you get the idea. We're back on our regular schedule Monday for the Movie Crush!

Much Love,
CT & Little C
