Little C: Forget it Jake, It's Comic-Con
Readers, we have finally arrived.
It is the eve of my very first Comic-Con experience. I'm excited, I'm nervous. What if the other nerds don't like me? What if someone tries to take my juice box? I'm kidding. Much like when I was 5 the answer to these problems is to dole out a swift ass kicking and move on.
In the weeks leading up to this glorious event, we have received two pieces of the greatest news that this nerd could ever have hoped for. I hate to sound like an over excited 12 year old but SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...
For those of you who don't understand why I have dissolved into a puddle of nerd bliss on my kitchen floor, these two comic books are in my top five favorites of all time. They are my Pride and Prejudice with slightly more people with superhuman powers. And, at least when it comes to Wicked and the Divine, the people in charge of overseeing the development of the TV show are two of my favorite comic book writers of all time. That's right kids, the glorious Kelly Sue Deconnick and Matt Fraction are bringing their human perfection to the TV writing game. Please no one burst my bubble of happy and point out that these are both in their infancy and anything could happen between now and them coming to my TV screen. Let me bask in the perfection a while longer before you pull the rug out.
I'm hoping that over this weekend more information about these joyous news items will be revealed, which seems likely since it's COMIC-CON. I will be on the look out for this, as well as attending panels and doing some networking. And buying art. And a T-shirt or two. And drinking my weight in caffeinated beverages. And attending some parties. And finding bathrooms because I drank my weight in caffeinated beverages. And possibly curling up into an over-stimulated ball of anxiety in the middle of the convention floor. I love these conventions, but they can be a bit much to take in.
If you would like live updates as to how CT and I are coping, we will be live tweeting to our joint account. Which you can find here. If you prefer to check up on us individually THIS is CT's account, and THIS is mine. Forgive the misspellings, it's hard enough to remember how phones work after a full day at these things, let alone how to type out a coherent thought. This warning applies mainly to my account, as CT finds correct spelling/grammar to be right up there with the whole cleanliness and godliness thing.
Now CT's post on Friday is subject to whether or not she has a spare second to write while we are in San Diego (which is not that likely because at these conventions in addition to everything else there is to do, CT has a cranky ass writing partner who needs coffee every ten minutes) so her post this week might be going out with the Movie Crush on Monday. You've all been warned, and to be fair I need her way more than you do for the next four days. We will return to our regularly scheduled posting next week.
Thor bless us, every nerd
Little C
