Weekly Roundup: Food Gauze Meds Smushy

Readers this post is being written by two very confused bloggers who are wrapped in sweaters and blankets and wondering where the hell summer went?!? The temperature in Los Angeles has plummeted by about 30 degrees in a week. We are not loving it...

(That post title comes from the suuuuuper coherent notes that CT insisted on taking after her wisdom tooth surgery. It's been a fun week trying to get work done around these parts)

...Little C is deep into the novel Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams. It's both weirder and a more straight forward story than Hitchhikers Guide and now Little C is ready in her heart to start the BBC America show adaptation...

...in their ongoing dedication to being out of touch dumbasses, Fox news aired a segment maligning the fact that Wonder Woman wasn't American enough. They may now join Bill Maher in the corner we sent him to after his bout of dipshittery where he claimed that the rise of extremists and fascists in the country is because of our love for superheros and comics. It seems that whether you consider yourself conservative or liberal, there is an out of touch white guy on your side of the media screaming about "kids these days and their superpower heroes."...

We have questions

...the trailer for Murder on the Orient Express came out. We love Agatha Christie and this looks like a gorgeous adaptation and we take comfort in the fact that though Johnny Depp is in it, he plays the victim of the titular murder. We would be unreservedly in love but dear god in heaven, what is on Kenneth Braughnah's face?...

... Even in the fog of wisdom tooth recovery, CT is still deep in the weeds of getting caught up on Supergirl. Consensus is that Winn Schott is absolutely adorable and Melissa Benoist is more delightful than she has any right to be...
Pondering how any two people could be so loveable...

...The Mayor of Austin, TX turned out to be a glorious card carrying nerd and had several interactions with Supernatural fans using exclusively gifs from the show. In days where so many politicians are turning out to be spineless piles of crap, this warms the cockles of our geeky hearts...

... CT has been reading the strange but gorgeous and moody Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffeneger. It's a ghost story... ish? But she's fully enjoying it...

Hope you're all having a great weekend!
