Movie Crush Monday: CT & Holiday Inn

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays readers!

We usually take the holidays off from the blog, but I'm actually kind of excited to share my movie crush with you this Christmas! By the time you're reading this, I'll be snug in my parents' house in Wyoming, eating an assortment of delicious things and listening to all the Christmas music. Aaaaaaannnd...

Watching Holiday Inn!

This movie has been a Christmas tradition in our family for as long as I can remember. Every Christmas eve, we have dinner, drive around to look at the lights, sing The Muppets & John Denver album cover to cover, and then watch Holiday Inn. I could probably recite the better part of this movie to you by memory, but I won't because you should definitely just watch it.

Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire play longtime friends that steal each others' ladies through song and dance, respectively. It's one of those classic 40's musicals that you can't take too seriously or look too closely at by modern standards, but the music and dancing is so freaking good that you tend to just sit back and enjoy it. Seriously, from the first song to the last the performances in this move are a delight. I literally wrote a paper on it in college.

We're going to keep it short and sweet this week because quite frankly there are about 3 dozen Christmas cookies in the kitchen that aren't going to eat themselves, guys. A girl's work is never done.

We hope that you're all having a really wonderful holiday season! It's been a beast of a year but we're thankful that we have time to hang out and enjoy our families and reflect on the new year to come, and we hope you're having the same. We'll be back to you later in the week with our annual Top Ten!

Happy Holidays!
