Weekly Roundup: SOS Please Send Slushies
This post was written from the floor under our house fan. LA just hit summer with a vengeance and we can't talk to our family about it because it snowed back home this week. Like 18 inches of snow. Which is why we moved to this arid wasteland in the first place. Ugh, we need a slushie but we would have to go outside in the million degree weather to get one so it's probably not gonna happen...
...The new Blink 182 dropped on Friday. Full post will come on Wednesday by which time Little C hopes she can talk about it in full sentences without devolving into raptor noises because it's filling her heart with joy and summery punk magic...
...We went to see King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Twice. If you go in wanting a hard hitting action movie with vague ties to the mythic king only where it suits Guy Richie, it is the most fun. We encourage you guys to all get out there because this wacky, weird, cool film deserves the sequel and we all deserve to see Idris Elba as Merlin...
...Little C picked up the first two trades for Angel and Faith. She never got into the Buffy 'verse comics because she worries endlessly about ruining a cherished part of her childhood but when she found these at the used bookstore around the corner from her work... She has no self control is the punchline and so far these two have been a fun expansion of a world we all love/miss...
... The Star Trek: Discovery trailer dropped and whooooo boy does it look good. Worth the wait and all the weird back and forth about its release, because we literally could not love Michelle Yeoh and Sonequa Martin-Green (and ya know, the rest of the cast) more if our lives depended on it...
...The Supernatural season 12 finale happened and consequently Little C has spent the last three days in and out of a fugue state. It was brutal. Nothing is okay. Only the impending arrival of the Scooby Doo mashup episode has shed light into the dark, funereal world that she lives in now...
Alright, that's it. We have to go find a cold, slush-like beverage immediately...
