We're Making A Thing!

Ok, friends, I have started this post about a thousand times and it always devolves into being completely incoherent. But I'm going to give it another shot. So just stay with me and we'll all get through it together.

We have some fantastic news to share with you all! The kind of news that has me alternately doing Snoopy dances across the room and cowering under my covers. Because, uhhh... Being an artist is hard, I guess?

"Get to the news, CT!!!!" I can hear you all. Okay okay, let's get there.

A little more than a year ago, Little C and I were hired to write a film for a small production company. They had the idea and rough characters, and hired us to write the script. We weren't sure what would come of it, but it seemed like a good idea for us- a great way to learn how to take notes, and write an idea that was born in someone else's mind, and keep to a schedule.

As with the vast majority of opportunities in Hollywood, there was a long time when we didn't know whether or not the script would ever really turn into a movie. And that was totally fine with us. Obviously, we hoped the movie would get made, but we had learned so much from the experience that we decided that we'd be thrilled with any way things turned out.

So that leads us to a couple months ago when we got a call from the producers we'd worked with, letting us know that the movie was a go! We jumped around, told our families, but largely kept it under our hats with everyone else. Things fall apart so quickly in this industry that anything could have happened after that, and we didn't want to have told everyone about something that wasn't actually going to happen.

But now, finally, production is about to begin. The cast is coming together (and we couldn't be more excited about the young talent that are starring in it!!), a truly amazing director has come on board, and everything is swiftly becoming a reality!

The movie is called School Spirits, and it's about an awkward young girl who moves to a small town and discovers that it's hiding a huge secret. It's a little funny, a little scary, and hopefully a whole lot of fun. They're shooting in St. Joseph, Missouri, and Caitlin and I are going down at the beginning of May to visit set and check out the production.

Again, I can't tell you how excited we both are. It's crazy to think that the things we wrote are about to become a reality. We can't wait to see how it all turns out, and we'll definitely keep you all updated as the process moves forward.

Much Love!
CT
